JOB DESCRIPTION

The Parts & Service Manager manages the efficient operations of the parts and service department. This position provides team leadership, inventory control management, customer service, shipping and receiving of parts, parts lookup, and pricing. This position will also have advanced knowledge in electric bike diagnosis, service, and repair.

WHAT WE EXPECT

  • Manage the parts and service department in all aspects of operations, including inventory control, shipping, receiving, and e-bike service and repair.
  • Directs and schedules the work of all department employees.
  • Execute continuous operating logistical efficiencies within the department.
  • Achieve QuietKat’s ambitious revenue goals by participating in the growth and development of the QuietKat Service team.
  • Maintain an accurate and effective parts and inventory control system.
  • Develop, communicate, enforce, and monitor the parts department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in the development of the annual parts department goals and budget, in alignment with the organization’s financial and operational objectives.
  • Process all parts warranty and return claims.
  • Achieve management stock order goals.
  • Ensure all department tools and equipment are in good working order.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Parts & Service Manager manages the efficient operations of the parts and service department. This position provides great customer service via phone and in person, shipping and receiving of parts, parts look up and pricing and helps in inventory quantity control. This position will also have advanced knowledge in electric bike diagnosis, service and repair.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  • Oversee the management and daily operations of the Parts and Service department
  • Guarantees customer satisfaction in all areas
  • Diagnosis, service, repair and assemble electric bicycles
  • Answer phone calls/emails and provide technical information for existing customers
  • Motivates and develops staff through coaching, mentoring, and training
  • Ensures department goals are met
  • Manages all required paperwork and records and prepares documentation.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all product parts, accessories, and promotions
  • Locates accessories or parts and arranges for installation or delivery.
  • Monitors parts inventory and maintains storage area in good condition
  • Collaborate with the warehouse fulfillment team to ensure timely delivery of parts
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Manage purchase order system to facilitate invoicing process.
  • Ensure service on bikes are completed in a timely manner
  • Maintain workshop organization and cleanliness
  • Coach and develop staff to strive to acquire greater skill levels & overall knowledge in the electric bike industry

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Team management skills with the ability to manage five (5) or more employees
  • Consummate customer service skills and sharp acuity for dealing with customers face-to-face
  • Parts and service experience within the bicycle industry
  • Advanced knowledge of electricity, motors and ebikes – advantage
  • Outstanding written and communication skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with variety of individuals
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and judgment in communicating with staff

 

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

  • 2+ years’ experience as a bicycle mechanic, electric bike experience a plus
  • 1+ years inventory control and parts management
  • 1+ years supervising in distribution /warehousing
  • History of bike repair, troubleshooting and maintenance, required
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite is required
  • Experience working in NetSuite a plus

  • Lifting up to 100lbs, bending, standing and squatting
