IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Products with 1,000W Motors
Unlike traditional mountain eBikes, QuietKat models are built with powerful, heavy-duty motors to propel you up the steepest of trails, even when you are loaded down with gear and trailers. The classification and regulations of our eBikes, however, varies from state to state. Specifically:
• Classification as motorized bicycles: In certain states, including California, products with 1,000W motors are classified as “motorized bicycles” or a similar term rather than “electric bicycles.”  As such, products with 1,000W motors may not be permitted on certain bike paths or multi-use trails or in bike lanes, depending on local laws, because the motor exceeds 750W.
• Licensing, registration, and insurance requirements: Depending on local laws, motorized bicycles may require licensing, registration, or insurance. States may also impose restrictions on the use of motorized bicycles on roadways.
YOUR INSURANCE POLICIES MAY NOT PROVIDE COVERAGE FOR ACCIDENTS INVOLVING THE USE OF QUIETKAT’S EBIKES. TO DETERMINE IF COVERAGE IS PROVIDED, YOU SHOULD CONTACT YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY OR AGENT.
• Rider age and safety gear requirements: Products with a 1,000W motor will be able to reach speeds as fast as __ mph, and as such may require more advanced riding skills. Consequently, states may impose age restrictions and safety gear requirements on motorized bicycle riders.
• Warranty and liability limitations: You are responsible for researching and complying with all applicable laws relating to the purchase of QuietKat’s eBikes, including laws and regulations relating to the use of products with 1,000W motors in your jurisdiction. Non-compliance may result in penalties or other restrictions. In addition, warranty exclusions or limitations will apply if the vehicle is used in areas where operation of a product with a 1,000W motor is prohibited. Limitations on liability will also apply if the product is used in areas where operation of an electric bike with a 1,000W motor is prohibited.
